Internship Pensacola

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Internship Pensacola is an effort led by the Pensacola Young Professionals with support from the University of West Florida. The primary objective of this program is to attract and retain young talent within the Pensacola Bay area, so that our region's businesses and cultural communities can grow and thrive. Internship Pensacola is designed to provide college students with valuable internship opportunities during their summer semester. Throughout the 13-week program, students will work with selected local businesses, thereby gaining greater knowledge and experience within their field of study while also earning hourly wages and college credit hours. Concurrent with their internships, IP interns will participate in a Professional Development Seminar that is designed to complement their work experience and polish their professional skills. In addition, interns will engage in several social and networking events intended to help them make personal connections and show them that Pensacola is an excellent place to live, work, and play after college graduation.

Summer 2010 Interns Application

Internship Pensacola will be accepting applications for the Summer 2010 session from February 1 through February 19. Please see the Requirements page of this website for a more detailed calendar.

STUDENT CANDIDATES

Internship Pensacola is open to currently-enrolled college students who are senior-level undergraduates or graduate students.
Participating students will enroll in a 3-credit-hour Professional Development Seminar. Interns may also receive between three and six hours of additional college credit for the internship itself. Please consult your faculty advisor regarding your department's policy on internship credit hours.
Participating students will be employed in a full-time capacity and earn a market-rate, hourly-wage salary.
In addition, students will achieve valuable work experience, professional development, and networking opportunities that will aid them in their future endeavors.
